Maintenance and Care

Maintenance and Care Instructions

Natural wood and modern resin, when combined, creates beautiful and unique artworks. Here is how to properly care for them.

  1. Sunlight: Avoid exposing resin to direct sunlight. The sun will amber the resin over time.

  2. Cleaning and care: To clean, use a damp cloth or a mild detergent. Never use any product containing ammonia.  You can also use a product called surface care which will work on any wood or resin surface. We love this brand:  https://amzn.to/3WJ02j4

  3. Oil Finishes: For products with an oiled finish, they will need periodic maintenance. Generally every 3-5 years for indoor pieces. If a polyurethane finish or a “film finish” is applied, it will not need any maintenance. Here’s one we like for the oil finish https://amzn.to/4jHo0ox

  4. Outdoor Furniture: We recommend furniture covers for outdoor furniture as this will extend the life of the furniture. This is a great brand no matter where you live with many different sizes https://amzn.to/3WHH1xA . For oiled pieces outdoors they will need maintenance anytime the wood is looking dry. The more regular maintenance, the better for the wood. With large wood slab tables, the wood will expand and contract with changes in the environment. When this happens, the wood can develop small hairline cracks. This is normal for exterior wooden furniture and caused by the wood movement from the changes in the environment. Contact us for your individual piece and recommended maintenance. With proper maintenance it will extend the life of your furniture.

If you know you have an oil finish we recommend this oil https://amzn.to/3Em1qBM

  5. Humidity: Keep the humidity at a consistent level. With solid wood furniture, it “breathes” and when it’s humid it will expand and when it’s dry it will shrink. Our custom wood tables have been properly kiln dried to bring the table within normal range for home or office environments. We recommend keeping at 40-60% relative humidity. Not only is the proper humidity in your home good for your health, it is also good for your table. When leaving for Holiday, we recommend keeping climate control on as it will keep your solid wood furniture stable. Here’s one for around the house https://amzn.to/3WKBJ4l

  6. Proper handling and installation: If you are local to San Diego or many places in California, Arizona, Texas and Nevada, we have white glove delivery companies that we work with. They can bring into your home and setup the furniture. If you are not local and you pickup or we ship to you. Please contact us to get instructions as some items can be heavy.
